Rainy day...

YEAH! it was our first true rainy day it feels like since we've moved here!!!! actually, it has rained several times, but not for a whole day and come to think of it usually over night...so we enjoyed our cosy rainy day inside and dreamed about fall days to come!!!

At breakfast, Avery told me that on Fridays (the only day in the week I let her buy her lunch) she eats her ice cream treat first because when you're big enough to buy lunch YOU get to decide what order you eat it in!!! She was so stinking proud of herself too!

And after a lazy morning playing and watching a movie (of course, it's raining!) Lincoln says, "Mom, I think that rainy days are perfect for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and milk, don't you?" So that is what we had!

Our last big update for today is that we officially installed, and became, a family with a gate. I had avoided having to have one for 5 years now...we never had a need in OP cause we didn't have any stairs and you could practically see from one side of the house to the other...but now it is official, we needed a gate. The big kids think it uber-fun of course...it's a cage, prison, gate, trap for bad guys...all kinds of cool things, but in reality it is for Henry who is working his little knees off trying to crawl. In fact, I've started carrying him around more hoping that may delay the crawling if he doesn't have time to practice, but unfortunately I think my days are numbered.

...and if you can't crawl yet, why not try a pillow racer!!!!

Getting started

Just trying to figure this whole blog thing out...and the playgroup moms swore it was easy, we'll see! Life is busy around here but good. Avery acts like she's been in elementary school for years, loves it, and is doing great. We really miss her when she's at school, and all fight for her attention when she gets home. She's making tons of new friends and we had a whole conversation in Spanish on Tuesday! So cool!

We went to Lincoln's school yesterday and met his teachers...he told us he was ready for school and we should go ahead and leave...in time Linc, you'll get to go next Tuesday! He is going to do great and is totally ready. I'm really glad we found him a preschool environment that is two half days a week instead of a PDO program since I KNOW he would NEVER take a nap and boy does he still need his naps!

And Henry, oh Henry! You are getting so big so quick. You are totally un-content with everything around you and until you start crawling I think that is how you will remain. However, crawling is mere days away I'm afraid!!!! We already lowered your crib to the lowest level as you can get into a sitting position whenever you want and have started trying to pull yourself up to a stand.
