more snow...and some hot chocolate

we played out again yesterday as we had yet another snow day. we have SO enjoyed this winter weather, and have totally taken advantage of it since we know that all too soon spring will be here (did I mention that we are all cold weather lovers?)

it was just gorgeous outside!

daddy and the big kids returning from their great sledding adventure...we had sledding around our yard for the last few days so he pulled them all the way up the street to sled down the BIG hills at the revene at the end of the street. they had a blast and even ventured across the frozen creek. what a COOL dad!

wet, tired, and a little cold they were ready to be home (well Lincoln was)

warm up with some hot chocolate (or goldfish crackers for the little guy)

I seriously can't believe how big/old they have all gotten!

and the finish to a perfect day? a bath of course!

Birthday festivities

Last Thursday Henry turned ONE! We had a fun time since it was a snow day for the big kids and Daddy too! We spent the whole day playing, opening gifts, and he even got a birthday blueberry muffin (cake had to wait until his party on Saturday). He liked being the center of attention and had fun sledding with brother and sissy (see previous post).

Being that we had all been sick for almost a week straight, Henry enjoyed a low-key birthay party on Saturday. It was fun none the less and he LOVED his cake. I whipped up a quick carrott cake and did my best to make it look like a monkey face since he loves monkeys so much. We had cake in the morning, opened presents with Grandpa, Papa, and Grammy and then had lunch at Applebees...it was fun!

brother love for Hen's birthday

can't forget sissy

oh yeah! mom, this cake is GOOD!

Snow fun!

We didn't really get much snow, but the slushy mix we did get made great snowballs and fast sledding! Kevin pulled everybody around for almost two hours!!! We had so much fun!

one year ago...

one year ago i didn't even know Henry. we were waiting to go to the hospital tomorrow and meet him for the very first time. I was totally relaxed, an old pro being that this was my third induction...but we should have known from that very first day that Henry had his own schedule, opinions, and ideas about how things would go. He got stuck, he waited to turn his little head and come out until later that afternoon. He hasn't ever stopped being his own little person; teaching us so much, adding so much to our family.

we love your cuddly face, your sweet smile, your beautiful blue eyes (with the one brown spec), your lightning bolt birth mark on your back, your silly giggles, your "fake" cries when you don't get your way, your chubby baby cheeks and monkey toes. we love that you know how to play patty-cake, pull sissy's hair, and fight your brother for a toy. we love that you love animals and climbing. we love that you hate warm food, shoes, and being more than two steps away from mommy. we love your "Pterodactyl" screams when you were little, your drooly face, and all your kisses. we love that you know where the mouse is on every page of Goodnight Moon. we love your pointing finger, that you refuse to hold your own cup, and that at bedtime when you are done cuddling and ready for bed you point to it and lunge to be laid down. we love that you can drive toy cars complete with vrooming sound, have a tea party, brush your hair, roar a dinosaur, and jump to songs. we love you when you HATE to be confined...in a car seat, changing table, or highchair. we love how much you love to swim. we love how you dance and have such rythmn we can't believe it. we love that you are our baby.

Lincoln's Valentine party

so sweet....he made me a sweet valentine, we ate treats, played a little with brother in his classroom and even sang a few Valentine's Day songs (who knew there were such things?)

The last week...

I feel as if we've dropped off the face of the world these last five days, but basically all the germs in the world have infested our house for the last week. Avery had the real flu followed by a sinus infection, while me and the boys played host to the stomach flu. There are pictures, but they are not worth sharing :(

Hopefully, I think we have FINALLY got the germs beat!!!

Ave's valentine party

I got to go to Ave's party without the boys! It was so much fun to hang out with her in her classroom and see all the sweet treats she got from her friends!

Snow!

We FINALLY got some snow! It has already started to melt but at least the kids got to touch some on their way to school!
