summertime update

i feel like it has been SO long since I last did an update...it has been a whirlwind of a summer. Fantastic, yet busy, hot and humid, but full of silly stories and lots of games. Avery turned 6 a couple of weeks ago and we had a really great time celebrating--first with friends, then together on her actual birthday, and finally in Kansas City with extended family. She is such a grown up little girl now and is getting bigger and smarter everyday! She still loves cats, jewels and jewelry, playing outside, running and jumping, her two (soon to be three) little brothers, our new puppy, perfume, make believe, dancing to songs (especially Taylor Swift), and of course her mommy :) She is 4'1" tall and 42 lbs...still my little string bean! She is growing her hair out and loves to experiment with different hair styles. We sure love her to pieces...and this house wouldn't keep running without her!

aside from Avery's birthday, we've been staying pretty close to home. we have been playing outside a lot and trying to keep cool anyway we can...swimming pools, sprinklers, popsicles....it has been a great summer thus far and I am sad that we are already this far into it

Brothers

A few of my friends have little girls and they have shared some truly precious moments between sisters. Well, I thought I'd post a comparison for me to always remember how weird our brothers are!

Essential to being a good brother...
1) teach your baby brother to sing "dananananna nannanaa, Batman!"
2) teach him to hold up a sword and say "I have the power"
3) spit, punch, and giggle hysterically at any other bodily functions
4) use household items to become knights

Yes, we are crazy

If it wasn't busy enough around here with three kids, one on the way, a dog, and a cat...we decided to add a new puppy to the mix! Ever since we lost Pikey back in April, we knew we were a two dog household and would eventually have to bite the bullet an live through the craziness of puppyhood again. Just would have never thought we would be doing it NOW! But she is definitely the right dog/temperament for us. Welcome little Gracie Girl! She is an 8 week old Weimaraner puppy.
